SR: Homeschool parents lose fight to keep their child



Radio Sweden reports on a case where a seven-year old child was taken away from his parents, and the boy was placed in a foster home. The parents say it was partly because they refused to send their child to school. On Thursday, the Swedish Supreme Court decided not to take up their case. [sr.se]

When Homeschooling Means Losing Your Child



I have my share of not-so-great homeschooling moments. You know those days when all the kids do is complain, you feel like a complete failure, and you wonder why you’re doing it in the first place? Sadly those days happen more often than not, and it is easy for me to lose perspective. I’ll easily fall into the “woe is me” persecuted homeschool mama role, complaining that I just can’t get it all done, and that it’s just “so hard”.

Last day in Administrative court for the Johansson’s today



They were overjoyed with the number of people who came to support the Johansson family. The Court room filled. They had to stop proceedings to get more chairs. During the lunch time break they had to change rooms to make it more comfortable for everyone. It was wonderful to see everyone stay until the end of the court proceedings although the Social worker and another person with the Social Worker had to leave part way through Ruby’s last presentation to the Court. There were two representatives of the Indian embassy there as well today, which was very encouraging.
